First Half of Winter

The first half of Winter went by fast! I have been all over the East Coast shooting at Big Boulder and the Transwaorld TransAM. It has been super fun so far and the second half of my Winter will be spent out West. I’m excited to get out there. For now here are photos of what I have been shooting the first half of Winter. Enjoy!

I got back to Boulder yesterday in time for an awesome sunset shoot on the Hip. @therealdonjour

Fall into Winter

Winter is finally back and my schedule is starting to get busy again. The fall was really mellow for me. I went to Miami the first week of October, NYC the second weekend in Oct and then Philly late November with Terzetto to shoot them when they performed. That lead me right into Winter and I am now at Big Boulder until Christmas. Here are some photos from the Fall and start or Winter.

Terzetto and Big Boulder

Winter has slowed down a lot for me and Big Boulder is closed during the week so I am home during the week now. Being home feels good! This past Friday I headed to Bliss Lonunge in Clifton, NJ to partying/take photos of my buddy’s DJ group, Terzetto. What a night! It was good to see these guys again and few other friends. Follow them on facebook and twitter!

Endless Winter

This Winter has been awesome. Seems like Mother Nature is making it to us since last year she didn’t give us any snow. I have traveled a lot this Winter and more than I ever did. I got to meet a lot of people and see a lot of cool things. Here are some photos since the Transworld TransAM at Powder Ridge, MN.

This was last stop for the Transworld Snowboarding TransAM at Keystone. This was by far my favorite stop and best day of riding for me the day before the contest.

What A Busy Start To Winter!

What an awesome start to this winter. We finally got snow on the East Coast after a awful winter last year. I have been all over the East already and there still is a lot of winter left!

Instead of writing a long post of what I been up to and where I have been here are a bunch of photos and iPhone photos that pretty much say it all.

The first stop of the Winter was West Viringia with Skylar Brent, Harry Hagan, Mike Ravelson, Dylan Dragotta, and Eugene Stancato. We pulled over on this back road in WV to get some photos of the snow and found this sign for Preston.

Behind The Photo: Loading Dock

On this Behind the Photo, I am going back to literally the first time I shot outside of a resort and in the streets. A huge snowstorm dumped snow all over the Northeast. That was back in December 2009 and East Coast Snowboarding Magazine was holding a photo contest. The contest consisted of the photographers getting their crew together and going out and getting shots from the storm that came through.

Updating Portfolio

I am currently working on updating my website and portfolio. Here is a little preview to the new portfolio.

Whoops!

WHOOPS!!! I haven’t been updating my blog! Well I’m back. The last post was in February and there has been some new things going on. This is a long one with a lot of photos!

The season at Big Boulder didn’t last much longer after February. The snow on the East was at a all time low, especially in Pennsylvania but we still made the best of it. Boulder had a few contest left and snowed once then rained right after.

Big Boulder hosted the Red Bull Butter Cup at Drinky’s Bar in Easton, PA. So many came out for the event and pretty sure the town shut down just for the Butter Cup. The after party was insane. I just leave it at that for the after party…

Peter Pape took it all at the Butter Cup.

The heaviest snow fall we had at Boulder then turned right to rain.

Matty B messing around with the new Joy Stick Boulder has.

Keep an eye out for this kid. Brooks is on the come up.

Buckmans hosted their Boulder Bash at Boulder again this year. Scott Kuchinski with the nose press.

Philly’s WMMR had its Cardboard Classic at Jack Frost. One of the crazy events and the most insane things people make out of cardboard. If you don’t get to Jack Frost before 9am you are parking AT LEAST a mile away. People are in the parking lot tailgating and every one has a beer in their hand b 9am.

All made out of Cardboard… no lie.

The first week of March I headed to Stratton, VT for the 30th Burton US Open to shoot the event for EAST Snowboard Magazine. That was the first time I got to go to the Open and it was an awesome time. The whole week was a lot of fun, got to see friends, partied, and saw Method Man and Redman preform.

Guess who. So glad I got to the Open since it is the last time at Stratton after 30 years.

After the Open I headed to Plymouth, NH to meet up with the rest of the crew to shoot LOON’s Last Call event. I wasn’t sure if I was going to make the event or make it out of Plymouth. That place is insane. Be prepared to rage if you ever go. Last Call was another event I haven’t been to before. LOON put together an awesome setup and event.

LOON’s Park Crew put together a awesome hip. Look at the method from Randall Stacy!

The winner of Last Call Nick Doucette.

After Last Call and the weekend partying in Plymouth I made it back to Boulder for their last two weekends.

Tom Bennett with that front blunt.

One last day at Boulder. Kyle Luza wallie back one.

Once Boulder closed on March 24th I packed everything up and headed back home to South Jersey. It was good to see family and be home for the first time since Christmas. The next weekend LOON hosted a new contest call Street Cred that Red Bull, Forum, and Oakley put together to end the season. I packed up my gear and headed to North Jersey to meet up with the crew then cruised north to Plymouth, NH. Once we got to LOON to see the set up we were hyped we made the drive up for the event. LOON never disappoints.

Mikey P was really out there.

Eugene Stancato taking it to the top of the Red Bull wall ride.

While we were at LOON we did a little photo gallery for EAST.

Jonny O’Connor taps the close out pole.

LOON would be the last time on a snowboard until Mt. Hood. Once I got home I got to hang with the family and friends. I had time to relax until I flew out to Salt Lake City, UT to hang with some friends. I spent most of my time working on EAST and partying in Philly before leaving for Utah. Once I got to SLC I headed south with Blatt to meet up with a few of his friends to go camping and mountain biking in Moab, UT. Moab is crazy and saw a lot of new things which was pretty cool.

Found this little guy while on the bike ride.

The bike trail ran along the top of this cliff. Don’t Fall.

After the week in Utah I got in Blatt’s truck and headed to Government Camp, OR on May 31st to start my again at High Cascade Snowboard Camp. This is my third  year working at HCSC and feels like I never left. Check back for the 1st session photo recap and all summer long for a recap of each session!

Crazy Winter

I have been slacking on posting on here but also have been super busy. This winter has been a crazy one with no snow falling so I have been shooting some contest for Transworld Snowboarding Magazine and Snowboarder Mag. On top of that I have been busy with getting EAST Snowboard Mag going and getting content.

The season started off good with a storm that brought over a foot of snow to North Jersey. I headed up to Matty B’s house and went out to try to get some shots for EAST. At that point we all thought we were going to have a awesome season like the past two years but that didn’t happen. Fingers are still crossed for some more snow.

Our first issue EAST released December 5th and it surprised all of us on how many views and hype it got. It is a lot of fun having a magazine and learning and seeing how it all comes together. We are working on the next issue now that will look like it will be released March 1st.

I have been living in Pocono Lake, PA working at Big Boulder taking photos for their website and marketing. Shooting for Boulder is fun, I get to ride with my friends and shoot with them.

Since their is no snow I have been shooting some contest. Transworld brought me on to shoot the two east coast stops of the TransAM at Waterville Valley, NH and Mountain Creek, NJ. Being on those stops was a lot of fun and the crew was awesome. In between the two stops I headed over to Seven Springs with a crew to shooting the opening of The Streets. If you haven’t checked or heard what Seven Springs is doing then you need to check it out. We will have a feature in the next issue of EAST about The Streets. I also shot the Snowboarder Mag Superpass at Mountain Creek for Snowboarder Mag this past Sunday.

Over all this winter I have keeping myself busy and trying to get the best out of it. Keep an eye out for the next issue of EAST Snowboard Mag. Below is a gallery of photos from this season. You can also check out more photos and contest on www.eastsnowboardmag.com.

May Day

This past Saturday (5/7/11) Big Boulder PARK opened for last day. Boulder does this every year on the first Saturday of May. For the second time the we had a full run with a lift running for May Day. The last time the lift was on was 2 years ago.

I headed up to Boulder on Friday to help put with the build. As soon as I got there I had a Bud handed to me, it was great! The build was pretty fun and there were some beers drank while we worked, maybe explains why the triple rail line wasn’t as straight as we wanted? But it was May Day, was the excuse we used. The setup turned out really well and everyone seemed like they enjoyed it.

I didn’t get much sleep on Friday night and was up at 7:30AM to head over to Boulder to get everything ready for opening at 10AM. The day started out with temps in the lower 60s and not a cloud in the sky. Then the clouds started to roll in around noon. From there we had rain, sleet, and there was snow spotted at the top. The craziest May Day to date? I think so. Got to love the Pocono weather.

Skullcandy was there pumping out the tunes and giving away a ton of free stuff. When you got a lift ticket they gave a goodie bag of random stuff, I hear some kids got a bagel in there bag. Also Vita CoCo Coconut Water was giving got some of there drinks.

Overall it was a lot of fun and good to see everyone.

Now I will be off to Government Camp, OR for the summer on June 6th to work at High Cascade Snowboard Camp.
